Value investors are certainly not being rewarded. What's
obscenely cheap today will probably be a little cheaper
tomorrow. Perhaps with day traders and mutual fund portfolio
managers in control of the equity markets, a security is
only worth owning if it will go up in price today. When
your bonus depends on performance what would you choose-
AOL or RIG?
This accounts for the lack of breath in the markets today.
Portfolio managers are putting money to work on their
favorites. So, it's kind of a self-fulfilling approach.
I'm buying this stock because it's going up which further
pushes it up etc. It's a winner take all market. In this
enviornment, OSX issues are the losers. I wouldn't bet on
this turning on a dime anytime soon.
