A Propos of Bears -- Yesterday on CNBC there was a discussion of Bill Gates investments which are mostly (90%) in MSFT of course, but still leaves a few billion just for diversification -- namely in bonds. It was also stated that Gates had money invested in Fleckenstein's shorts. That seemed a dirty deal to me.

Off topic?

<What I fear is that the wealth doesn't get spread around.>

Isn't that a problem for most countries that aren't as good at the capitalist system as the U.S.? (This is a question, not a rhetorical one.)

Jim, Re: What I fear is that the wealth doesn't get spread around.

No need to fear, that is the case and will be for at least
the next 30 years.

Jim, re: "What I fear is that the wealth doesn't get spread around."

I heard this interesting factoid on Mr. Gates of the U.S. of A.

"The net worth of Bill Gates exceeds the wealth of the the lower 40% of all Americans combined".

And we seem to be doing ok, right?

Jeff
