OK, for what it's worth: I just checked with my local coin dealer. First, to confirm the apparently well known: there are no 1999 Silver Eagles available and the waiting period is now six months and, of course, no prices will be quoted; the premium on 1/10ths gold is expanding rapidly, essentially because they are unavailable. With regard to $1000 face-value bags of coins. The situation at this point is considered to be opposite to the general wisdom in ordinary times: The premium on these coins is in fact rising faster than that for rounds. Under ordinary circumstances there is a time lag discount for 90%. During the Hunt period it was about 50%! The dealer feels that should the crunch actually play out as expected, there will be a bugger your neighbor mind set which will cause dealers to pay less for 90% as opposed to pure, just because they will be able to get away with it. He recommends a small investment in such coins, but that the bulk should be put into rounds

The reason you quit talking to me (which you haven't..:0), is due to the paranoid comments you make and the fascinating, but twisted, thought process from which you derive them.

You, were far less than unwilling, to take the side FOR a bigger government more abusive of personal rights. Truth is you do not love freedom. Gold represents that very freedom. The FDIC & the treasury do not like the freedom which gold gives and represents. They wish to know every dollar we save earn or spend. They would be willing to use your friends, "the weekend warriors", toward this end. They will do anything - Yes Anything - to achieve the goal of an all seeing and knowing government.

Everything is a conspiracy to you, Richard. Conspiracies are what you crave for sustinence each day. You feed on your own self-created fear, a fear that denies you the freedom of being without fear. You look for angles and sinister plots each and everyday, I bet.

And when some idiotic and politically corrupt official abuses his power, you automatically extend that corruption to innocent individuals who work in wholly unrelated parts of the gov't.

So you have to ask yourself one question.... Why are you always making with the "negative waves"?? (Nice to be able to combine comments from my two favorite Clint Eastwood movies "Dirty Harry" and "Kelly's Heroes").

Enjoy life. Have a little cheese and drink a little wine. Work to change what you can in your own little world so it will be a bit better for yourself and others. And those things you cannot change, pray for the patience to accept (as well as the wisdom to know the difference).

In the end we all die. It is how we live and touch the lives of others that really matters.

And I would surmise by your comments that you touch a lot of folks with your negative ramblings about gov't conspiracies.

But that's just an educated guess on my part.

Regards,

Ron
