From my experience whenever a lot of 3Com product news starts hitting the wires then a warning is close by.
Call it band-aids for an amputated limb or whatever it only helps as much.

3Com (COMS) officers said Tuesday the company will be the leader in handheld devices through its palm products. "I think Palm will be the platform of the new millennium," said Janet Roberts, company vice
president of global marketing and business development, who displayed
the company's new handheld Palm VII. It is expected to be released
this summer. She told money managers at the BancBoston Robertson
Stephens conference that she believes the company has the only
profitable handheld business today and had pushed handheld personal
digital assistants as a high-growth, profitable market. 3Com's share ofthe U.S. handheld market is in the mid 70 percent range, while
worldwide share is in the low 40 percent area. Roberts said the company needs to enter the Asian market "in a big way."

I got this info from CBS Marketwatch about COMS from the conference. Any other news out there? Did they say anything about how this quarter was going???
