<<Heard recently that there's a lot of housewives watching CNBC all day and 'investing'. Does anyone remember hearing of this phenomena in the recent past... >>

When a society has a lot of housewives and teenagers playing the stock market, you know the stock market is near its top. Before Taiwan stock market crash (I don't know when is that exactly, in 80s?), I heard there were also a lot of housewives playing the stock market. Of course, at that time, there was no Internet yet. They just took a cup of tea and went to the trading center and sat there the whole day. My aunt (from Taiwan) told me that she had some friends lost their houses after the market crash.

Yeah I remember the housewives thing, I also remember hearing about 100 PE ratios and the Japanese saying that was okay because their companies had such great growth potential.
