RTev:

Wasn't Primestar aquired by Hughes Directv?

If a netsurfer has broadband internet access via cable (?? 10-30 Mega bps, 30 fps video etc.) with @Home or RoadRunner, and can also drop into aol.com for free (admittedly to the exclusion of certain proprietary services available only to aol subscribers, but probably more than overlapped in the @Home/RoadRunner package i.e. 6 e-mail accounts etc.,) why would anyone want to pay aol's subscription fee over and above the basic all-inclusive cable internet package? Why does anyone need aol for internet access when aol (and most everything else) is available for free once you're on the internet, but can be accessed at 30Mbps, to boot?
Now, if DSL is comparable to cable in speed and cost(?????) that would be another story.

Srini.
