jelrod3,

My guess is no impact at all. EMC is way ahead of the curve when it comes to switched fibre channel storage area networks and more importantly the software to integrate the flow of data in heterogeneous environments. If Dell gains market share, I don't think it will be at a cost to EMC. The specific info on storage market share has been posted on another threads (A Fibre Channel Future, ANCR) from this article:

(CNET)...Dell isn't first to the SAN market: Rivals include Compaq,
Hewlett-Packard, EMC, and IBM. To make its SAN products stand out from the crowd, Dell plans to rely on its traditional method of beating competitors' prices, according to Michael Lambert, senior vice president of Dell's Enterprise Systems Group.

***I heard the figure thrown out the other day, that EMC has 33% of
the storage mkt, IBM 22% and all the rest in the space have <10% each.
I'm not worried about the entry of DELL.
