Morning all ....

Just 5 more full shopping days until the conference and hopefully some solid news. Found this in the London Times ... I think we could potentially see this sort of thing happening more and more. Hmmmmm, I wonder what a viable alternative would be!?!? LOL

US blocks satellite sale to Beijing

THE Clinton Administration yesterday blocked the sale of an advanced communications satellite to China, citing national security. The satellite, costing $450 million (£280 million), was to have provided a mobile telephone network stretching over much of Asia.

Washington refused export licences to Hughes Electronics because of concerns about the network's probable value to the Chinese military.

There were also worries at the Pentagon that the technology needed to place the satellite in orbit would help the Chinese to make their fleet of intercontinental ballistic missiles more accurate.
