Poor kitty. I hope you did what you could to find it. If it is still alive, you could catch it in a trap and take it to a vet to be healed or put to sleep. Was its unattractive quality the smell of cat urine? If so, it was an unaltered tom, I am sure you knew that. They do make things smell bad. We have cats, and we don't have any other wild creatures in our fenced suburban yard. Not squirrels, not chipmunks,not mice, not bunnies, nor any birds but transients. We don't put food out for the birds, as it would simply act as if we had installed a kitty McDonald's drive-thru.
