Wow, my internet connection just came back up after being down for 18 hours (grrr).

It was hysterical to read the evolution of the sentiment on this thread over the time I was gone. Especially in light of my opinion on Sharkey's posting yesterday.

The Metabyte SLI news is total nVidia hype. Gawd, where do I begin?

Here is TDFX getting slammed for not supporting AGP 4x with texturing. HOW IN THE HECK CAN A AGP/PCI SLI RIG SUPPORT ANY AGP FEATURES EFFICIENTLY? Bottom Line: It can't.

The article starts (STARTS!) with the price of this fictional part. Come ON!

Sharkey has always been more into rumors than facts and they are now over the edge. Maybe they are suffering from sleep deprivation, but the "skepticism" part of their brain isn't functioning right now.

This is total desperation by the nVidia camp - a strategy they've used in the past (unfortunately with some success) - flood the gaming community with anti-3Dfx rumors just before 3Dfx releases a new product. nVidia is correctly scared on the 3500 and is taking desperate measures to delay gamers from buying it.

The stock hung in well today considering the stupidity of the last hour.

just a quick note: NVDA has been more tight-lipped, and likely will be more reasonable now that they are public...their claims are more reasonable and I expect them to attain the goals that they state in their press releases (at least, my expectations are higher than when they were not public) TNT SLI doesn't bug me until I hear that it works, and that the technology is public.

TDFX in the 10ish area seems like a bargain to me....but I ain't buying more just yet...

V3 kicks some serious ass, with the exception of 32bpp, which doesn't seem as much of a factor, considering that most sites suggest image quality to be quite high, and that at high resolutions "banding" within the image dithering will be less noticeable....

Pat, you are giving me a downer, my friend...fortunately I have been there...a few things piss you off, then you realize that there aren't a whole lot of places where your investment dollars have the upside vs downside potential of TDFX...just give it until next x-mas, and I believe that you will own a stock which has grossly outperformed the market to that date...
