<Do you ever sell against your holdings?>

Yes... of course with these stocks you may miss some real action if and announcement comes out... one reason for this thread... it would be nice to start a little "pipeline" calander so to speak of when something big is most likely to come out on various stocks so we know when its safe to sell against our holdings, and when it may be advantageous to maybe buy the options and bail out on our long stock before big announcements. I'll check the ICOS options tomorrow, but as for the timing of potential news we'll have to do leg work.

Icos options are fair value according to my historical info... this does NOT take into account any news that may come out however! So as per the "Mast" at the beginning of the thread they may still be mispriced on the cheap side if you expect any announcements. You will have to do homework on expected announcements and sell an option accordingly... I will say that many biotech options are often "high" by historical standards and if you don't expect much to happen for a period of time you may want to sell some calls... this is NOT the case with ICOS.. these look "fair value" to me. These are the types I would consider buying if I thought some announcement related movement might happen.
