This thread is dedicated to discussion of biotech options, warrants, covertible, and other derivative securites, with special emphasis on companies where the potential impact of upcoming events will have a substantial impact on the company (ie. this thread is not about "the Immunex stock split and which options to buy" nor usually the AMGN's of the world). Since fundamental information such as trial results, patents, FDA news, sales numbers of new drugs, etc. (and the understanding of such) are such important inputs in the valuation of these securities there is, IMO, a high probability of a mispricing in the marketplace which generally uses option models assuming normally distributed stock prices and historical volatilities. Liquidations, bottomless, and even just a stock in "make or break" status is fair game as these can somethimes be construed as an option on a positive future outcome. Fundamental input is strongly encouraged since thats the "edge" we have on the street. Input from all the fine threads here at SI (VD,TIF,BVF,munch, etc) would be greatly appreciated, and in return hopefully a meaningful discussion can be profitable for all.
