Ampex To Buy 20% Of Web Video Firm; Open Calif. Site

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Ampex Corp. (AXC) signed an agreement to
acquire 20% of the
capital stock of Alternative Entertainment Networks Inc., Beverly
Hills, Calif., with the option to
acquire a majority interest.

Terms weren't disclosed.

In a press release Wednesday, Ampex said it plans to open a video
production facility in the Los
Angeles area, to which Alternative Entertainment Networks plans
to move its video production and
Internet operations.

Ampex said it plans to use the facility for new areas of content, to be
developed internally or
through acquisition. The facility would also be available to other
companies in partnerships with
Ampex.

Ampex makes devices for magnetic recording, image processing
and digital storage.

Alternative Entertainment Networks produces and aggregates live
streaming video content playable
over the Internet.
