I agree John. The things people won't buy on the internet are clothing, high end items, greeting cards... personal stuff. Drugs are a commodity once you get your prescription which after all has to come from an MD, not a pharmacist. Once you get the prescription, price and convenience wins out which favors internet retailers. I think drugs are a great online business!

Maybe a lot of people will buy prescriptions over the Internet...I really dont see it becoming a market as large as books or CD's...there's just something about drugs online.

John,

>> Merck-Medco Rx Services is currently selling prescription drugs over the phone. Why not the internet?
<<

Why will Merck exit the market and surrender its business to amzn? Is it because they can't program an internet site ?

And if they make a cooperative agreement with amzn, why would they give them any excess profits beyond some fee for service. Does Merck spend tens of $billions on research and employ an army of PhD's just to cede its profits to some upstart who has never made a dime selling anything ?
