WSJ reports AMZN invested $30-40 million.

Which means that AMZN still has a lot more cash to piss away. WSJ reported this great deal on Drugstore.com:

"In several categories, Drugstore.com's opening-day prices appear highly competitive. The company says it will sell 100 Extra Strength Tylenol gel caps at $7.99; Long's Drug Store in South San Francisco, Calif., charges $8.49."

Lets see... If they can mail it to me same day for 49 cents they can whoop Long's Drugs butt. I can't wait to start saving big bucks. I just don't get it. AMZN's site is successful because it is fun to shop on. I use it often to find opinions on books and music. Then I click over to Buy.com and save 20% over Amazon prices. It's fun and I feel I'm getting a great deal over the physical stores. The same goes for Dell.com. I like ordering from Dell. Its fun and empowering. Ditto for E-Bay. But please! Buying soap and prescriptions? BORING. Going to Drugstore.com sounds like a drag and IMHO will find a difficult time dragging eyeballs to its site.
