Intel having better process control is not the only reason why Intel's chips can run at higher speed. In fact, a year or two ago, Yousef pointed out that a simple gate for 0.35um process should be able to run at 500MHz+. Therefore, speed paths (circuit design) handicap the over all speed yield.

Since this is not an Intel thread, I don't want to talk about Intel's price. At $18, AMD is still over valued. I would like to get a boat load again below $15.
