Thanks go to both you and c-man for your insights and opinions about the annual meeting. I guess the biggest issue (for me) that neither of you have mentioned is the earnings outlook for the next couple of years. It's great that things are falling into place and that the company's strategy is still on track but WHEN will the company be profitable? When will they be able to generate earnings or future products that will enhance the bottom line? Are we still a couple of years away? Anyone who bought this stock a couple of years ago (before Feb 97) still is sitting on a double or so. How long will we have to wait before this company shows substantial profits?

Hey drakes? I am a bit surprised that your recent input on this thread has been to rub salt into other's wounds? This shows no class at all. I expect your gloating and calls for others to eat crow makes you feel better but adds little to our discussion. Maybe you can contribute to the thread?

Respectfully,
Michael

"Well Ollie, It's another fine mess you've gotten us into!" I hope that Evans doesn't read your post or his next article will be headlined, AGRIBIOTECH IS GOING TO THE DOGS!- (Film at 11)

PS- Thanks for the info to you and all others reporting. I've been long since 95. I still believe in the long range potential of this company.

"In furtherance of my post yesterday, I wish to add two additional observations from my trip to the annual meeting."

I love furtherances.

"This gentleman is a medical doctor. He had a significant grasp on the scientific aspects of what ABT is about......."

Oh my, a medical doctor. Have you found medical doctors to be above average investors? How do you know he had a "significant" grasp? By over hearing a 10 minute conversation? And how do you know that he was a "good" doctor? Or a gentleman, for that matter.

"My second observation is prompted by the totally inaccurate reporting which is abroad indicating that JT was taken out of the meeting....."

Foreign reporting. I knew it; this is a worldwide conspiracy.
Was there a Der Spiegel reporter at the meeting?

"It has been my experience with investigative reporters in general that ever since Watergate, they have felt that they are one man wrecking crews (ala Woodward & Bernstein).....

I believe that W&B were a two man wrecking crew. I'll assume you have personal experience with investigative reporters. Or do you base your feelings on what you read from reporters?

"During that tour, I was led past JT's office which was standing open."

What was standing open? The office? The door to the office? Was there an office? Was there a door? Is there life after death?

"I was particularly taken by the fact that there was present on the floor of his office, his pet German shepherd puppy who apparently is a regular visitor to the offices."

Can't have been too regular a visitor if it's a puppy, can it? Gotta love them pups. Wonder if he is trained? Did you ask?

"I offer these pieces of information to attempt to show the distortion efforts which are at work here and on the yahoo board as we speak."

Me too. Furtherances, investigative reporters, good doctors, foreign intrigue, open somethings, puppies, and distortion efforts. Thanks.

Oso: I also toured ABTX headquarter the day of the meeting and agree with you 100%. Very functional with no fluff. The 1997 annual meeting was in their original headquarters on Sunset Road. The headquarters were VERY spartan and frugal and convinced me that JT was truly mindful of his responsibilities to shareholders. An interesting tidbit: An ABTX employee told me Monday that JT is so honest and straight that he insists on paying the company for the few ABTX promotional materials (T-shirts, caps, etc.) that he uses for himself.
