I wonder what your opinion is of ... (several barbaric customs) If I were king of the world there are many things I may want to change. For the most part I advocate looking at these practices and thinking I'm sure glad we don't do that around here. Not all examples are or need to be good examples. One can learn a lot about drugs by seeing addicts on the street. I would consider intervention in the cases of 1. I felt threatened by the practice, or 2. I was asked for help and thought I could actually provide it. I think people or societies which are self destructive will disappear on their own. I tend to support containment as a public policy over intervention. TP
