That's not going to happen here (North America) and is even less likely to happen in China and Mexico. Developing countries have been computerized for a much shorter period and therefore don't have the billions of lines of COBOL code written way back when, which is the main cause of concern in the Y2K problem. Large companies, banks etc., will take a hit but even in the West there is no cause for concern to power & infrastructure.

This alarmist stuff about Y2K is overblown and has been fuelled mainly by experts and consultants, who have been making a sh**load out of their fear-mongering.
