I think you are mixing apples and oranges. I.E. Sure some conservatives believe in use of public funds, but for what?

And local control? Another issue. But a fundamental difference in philosophy which I am sure we are both already well aware of.

Under that ideology, poorer communities don't get things like quality arts, education, streets, et.al. Some philosophies feel that the better we ALL are (in some areas, at least) areas, the better off we ALL are.

It always comes back to the same thing: If you can afford it, you can have it. Otherwise...SOL

Anyway...

How can you justify taking money from someone in Arizona to build a museum in Connecticut?

Not to mention the fact that 50 cents of every dollar leaks away by the time it gets there.
