it is a steam roller that is going to crush the competition.
Accept it.<<

You want us to accept a company which relies upon consumer ignorance to maintain its success?

Do you really think that a stock with a p/b of somewhere around 20 is fundamentally sound?

MSFT is the best of a bad bunch (NSCP, AOL, etc.), but the stock has serious fundamental flaws.

FWIW

Tech,

Your not that dumb to think a company the size of IBM is worried about MSFT! You you really have any idea just how big and diverse IBM is? Lets just test you. Tell me how big IBM is in revenue, employees, industry subsectors, etc. I want to see if you really know.

If you really do know, then then once you finish answering all my questions, compare that to MSFT's numbers. I know you want to think that the whole world is against MSFt, but in actuality, they have more important things to worry about than MSFT.

As for NOVL, they couldnt be happier right now. Their stock is at a 52 week high. Their earnings (which you stated were not that great) were substantially higher than last years, they have a mature Directory Service that has NO competition for anyone - specially MSFT, and their NetWare 5 sales are soaring thanks to ON-TIME delivery of a very stable product (something MSFT has no clue on how to do) and their biggest NOS competitor will not have its product Windows2000 out for another year at least.

So your fooling yourself if you think NOVL is scared and worried about MSFT. In fact, the NOVL Execs are likely thanking MSFT every day they wake up for giving them the in they needed! If you would have invested in NOVL's stock last year instead of MSFT, you would have made a much bigger gain on your investment Tech.

Quote from an Analyst today that you will like....

Big companies are buying more of Novell's Netware 5.0 product, which includes so-called network-directory software that Microsoft doesn't yet offer for its Windows NT operating system. Novell has been battling Microsoft in the market for directory software, which lets companies manage networks more efficiently. ''Netware 5.0 has all the momentum right now,'' said Joel Achramowicz, an analyst at Preferred Capital Markets, who rates Novell ''strong buy.''

Save your pitty for MSFT - they are going to need it!
