Looks like the major billers are starting to follow suit as I have thought concerning grace periods. Visa started charging interest some time ago if your payment is not received by the due date. Now T is doing this also. These billers know that the consumer will work the float if allowed to but why should they let us. Now, the billers expect to get their $$$ on the date they say, if not, interest to boot at 17 1/2%.

As more billers start enforcing their grace periods, they will turn their receivables faster and this is what they want. This will drive EBPP faster. No more reason for the consumer to work their float past the grace period and paper checks will become less efficient on working float than electronic. No post office to wonder about and possibly be late with 17 1/2% interest staring you in the face. Go billers, punish the consumer for being late. This is good. Technology is good.
