I'm not an accountant but: If they buy back 27 mil shares, does the number of shares outstanding decrease? I'm thinking it doesn't, but it seems as though it should. Let's say 186 mil sh are outstanding, and they buy back 27 mil. Now the owners of the remaining 159 mil own the company and the other 27 mil shares, right? Of course when the employees get options on the 27 mil then they are no longer held by the company.

The last 10-K and 10-Q have some info about this. You can look at

sec.gov
sec.gov

and search for "repurchase".

All I can tell for sure is that they or the third party have bought
at least 5.8 million this quarter and the company had actually taken
possession of at least 10.3 million through December 31.
