I think there's a fair chance this offer will be rejected, and that that is why they made it public rather than private. But I also think it could eventuate in a better offer, either from Phillips or someone else. I guess that the marketplace also feels that the offer doesn't have a great chance of being accepted. You make a good point that they gave VLSI very little time to decide. They're trying to pressure VLSI to accept. I wouldn't myself accept an offer given in such a way. I hate to feel bullied. Linda
