In researching around the net (threads and articles) I'm thinking the buyout rumor started when the company responed to an inquiry (appx. 2 weeks ago). The inquiry was of the nature would they consider a buyout and the response was to the effect they are looking at all ways to enhance shareholder value.

I don't have the details and I'm surmising the rumors started around that point in time (or at least that is appx. when the stock started its move).

My read (and you know the people and fundaments much better than I) is that company may not be to receptive of a buyout unless its a great price with continued opportunity for stock appreciation. I'd think that rules out the strongest suitor rumored.

Even though the stock hit $25 I've passed on investing (speculating) on the buyout. The company could just as eaisly enter into an acquistion or merger (CIEN, my rumor only <gg> that dilutes short term shareholder value.

Thanks again on SYNT and MRVC (now why didn't I ask you about CYMI).

Have a good weekend.

Tim

PS - I'm going to start hyping CHKPF soon, even today its down on low volumn <g>.
