I recently added GBLX and QWST to balance my internet holdings. They both have had a nice pop which encourages me to do more research. This thread is outstanding.
My question to GBLX holders is how in blazes do you sort out the competition? These two stocks were recommended by a #1 newsletter, Pure Fundamentalist. A place where I start. I assumed they did the initial 'sorting.' It appears, however, that holding a 'basket' of this group would be safer? Am I on base here?

J Gunn, very interesting article that you posted. It seems to me that it is not at all a competitor to Global Crossing. There are no electric power lines crossing the oceans.

It is a last mile solution (Sydkraft said it thinks that small enterprises and home office, along with regular homes, will be the main market for its new service.), GBLX sells long haul capasity to carriers.

You can find some more thoughts on Sydkraft here:

I would think that the faster last mile gets the more demand for long haul will increase.

Here's an article on digital powerline (DPL). Apparently, in Europe the powerline infrastructure of the big utility companies can potentially take broadband just about anywhere on the contintent. Does this make GBLX's terrestrial build-out unnecessary, redundant?
