What reason could you give b4 the trial started to change judges?


First, let me say that I'm assuming that the prior ruling is independant of this one.

I would think every effort would be made to avoid even the appearance of possible bias or the like on the part of a judge.

How can a judge appear impartial when he has a history (and a negative one, at that) with the defendant?

I'd like to further this discussion tomorrow, if possible (and I welcome others' input, too).
