Marshall, from The American Heritage Dictionary, 3rd Edition:

boil·er-room (boi“l…r-r›m”, -r‹m”) adj. Informal. Of, relating to, or involving often illegal, high-pressure telephone sales tactics, such as those used in selling stock, commodities, or land.

I've never heard anyone use your definition before now.
