MB: I suppose you have a point. I found it to be tedious, namely, it is hard to find all the nuances (and each on a potential minefield) about each new stock, like earnings surprises/disappointments, takeovers (deadly if you're short), upgrades/downgrades, whisper numbers, etc. First you have to find the candidates, and then you need to do all this due diligence, including scanning the web for gossip. It seems to be so much time for so little reward, particularly since many stocks are completely illquid and therefore not really suitable for trading. Oh well. I guess everybody has their own style..
