Amy,

I read AMD was a reseller of Intel chips until 486. Heard AMD copied 486 via an agreement, then AMD tried to do it alone and design their own chip.

All current AMD x86 CPUs were designed completely from scratch.

I read Microsoft is planning on enabling home appliances with some cool technology. Maybe AMD could do the toaster?

The technology for enabling home appliances will likely come from NSM, rather than AMD. AMD has no offerings in that segment.

If you are basing your investment decisions on the concept that AMD can not design competitive microprocessors, you are making a serious mistake.
