John,

Thanks for the info. What parameters do you set your RSI at? Also, you sound as if you have a MA on your Trader's Index (TRIN). If so, what are your settings? Does the charting allow you to superimpose an index (like the dow) on a stock chart? Is your OEX a MA or an oscillator? What I like best about RSI and TRIN and some of the oscillators is that they are more leading indicators than MA's which typically are lagging indicators. I'll check out IQ charts and let you know. Thanks. MLJ

Hi John -- I recently started using IQ charts and also find them very useful. It's also a lot less expensive than anything comparable.

That strategy looks to work pretty well with the OEX. Do you use the exponential MA or the simple one? Have you modified this strategy any? You may want to look at the 5-minute chart for an earlier signal when there's a clear trend developing. Also, I used stochastics combined with momentum and MACD on Thursday for a profitable OEX option trade.

I just started an IQ Charts thread for discussion and sharing:

techstocks.com

Maybe we should move this discussion over there, as everyone there uses IQ Charts and can use and help modify the same strategy.

I hope you don't mind, but I used your quote in the subject posting. If that's a problem, let me know, and I'll get it changed.

If you have any tips you would like to share with others who are just starting with it, please visit the thread. If you have any questions, I or others will try to answer them. Hopefully, we'll have some good sharing of information there that will help us all be successful traders/investors...

Anyone who's looking for inexpensive real-time charting and scanning should check out the above link. You'll be happy you did...
