Rob,

>> straddle between stocks ready to fall and those poised for rebound.

Easier said than done.

I have 2 points re amzn.

1- if price gets to 145, then that's within shooting distance from the conversion price. It may attract a lot of buying then, since the bonds that are converted will be removed from the debt, which of course is very positive to the business, even if dilutive to the shares.

2- there may be a stream of announcements leading up to Q1 report in an effort to get to item 1 above. And of course momentum begets momentum.

I think the best course is to trade it in small bites, and don't hold an unhedged position overnite.

>>You can bet that Meeker and Blodgett knew about it. It was rumored but there are several rumors floating around so it's hard to tell if general leaking from employees had any effect.<<
You've been around here as long as I. We all know that Bezos has his closed door meetings with his elephants analyst's. So why do you think that it would take an employee leak??
As far as TA is concerned. I don't (imhop) and never have thought it has value here. Value stocks? Yes?, but not here.
