Perhaps you get mostly paperbacks. The more expensive technical books, and hardcover carry much larger difference (even though the % diff is probably the same, the absolute $ is larger).

The proof of this pudding is that amzn revenue growth will be less that on-line retailing growth. As far as I know this occurred for 98Q4. The analysts who favor amzn do not mention the growth of amzn vs on-line retail. But when it gets noticed and mentioned, I think that will put a constraint on the price of the stock. Maybe.
