Yes I signed up at ATHM website in December right after I bought the stock. But I don't think the mailers are targeting to me.
Every mail boxes in my apartment complex received this mailers. Some people just tossed it away to the trash can. I can see several of them in the trash bin by the mail boxes. I am surprised that they can schedule me for next Sunday. This is much quicker than I expected.

WorldGate a threat to ATHM? Your thoughts appreciated.

WorldGate was founded by former SFA employees. WorldGate is offering
internet TV with speeds up to 128k with no additional equipment other than your TV and remote. Although, with the addition of a digital converter speeds of up to 27Mbps are attainable.

WorldGate also has the patent of Channel Hyperlinking, the ability for
subscribers to link directly to a Web site associated with a TV show or commercial announcement with the press of a single button. Logging on to the service, for e-mail, Web browsing or Channel HyperLinking, requires less than five seconds.

Hoovers Description:

The race to send the Internet through the TV is on, and WorldGate Communications is running hard; it has signed on Charter Communications and four other cable companies to launch services. WorldGate delivers full Internet access over cable lines through a set-top box hooked to the TV, delivering data at 128,000 bps (faster than conventional phone modems). Its Channel HyperLinking allows TV viewers to go directly to Web sites associated with TV programs; about 70 TV programmers are HyperLinking partners. WorldGate has received equity investments from its set-top providers, General Instrument
and Scientific-Atlanta, as well as from other large and influential investors.

ATHM is doing a demo in the Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Newport News area. Many of you on the West Coast may not of heard of it, but we are the largest "city" in Virginia, bigger even than the suburban DC area.

My 17 year old son who owns his own web design business and is going to MIT this Fall is already bugging me to get the service when it is available (mid-1999). That didn't surprise me - but what DID surprise me was that all the little 12-16 year olds in my younger son's age bracket who are "dyed in the wool" AOL users are screaming to their parents to get ATHM and drop AOL as soon as ATHM is available.

Now I know what Steve Harmon means by "AOL on steroids"! If these kids switch from AOL to ATHM, we are going to see this stock absolutely explode in 1999.
