AIRBUS POSTS $200 MILLION LOSS
Price competition for commercial jetliners caused Airbus Industrie to lose $200 million in 1998, according to Airbus partner British Aerospace. Airbus is a consortium of four European aerospace companies. Members of the Airbus consortium compete against Boeing in most business sectors since they are the major players in the Arianespace European rocket company, and in the Eurofighter, Eurocopter and Euromissile defense partnerships.
