Those aren't ellipses; they are merely pauses. In speech, I suspect, she fills in any moment of potential silence with some equivalent of "ah" or "um" or "like"--am I onto something?

To still oppose split infinitives may be a lost cause, but according to my dictionary, interject is still a transitive verb.
