I agree Dennis, this must be standard practice, however, that does not make it a profitable or popular practice. I thought WalMart taught the retail industry that lesson in customer service a long time ago? Why can't CPU learn this valuable lesson? IMHO, it's just a matter of time before someone picks up on this and does a number on CPU or maybe we will get lucky and WalMart will buy them out? Now that's a thought HMMM "SAM'S Computer City USA" kind of has a nice ring to it. I can see it "Sam's Choice Modems" $19.95. Sorry to be facictious but management is starting to p*** me off. I guess I haven't gotton over the credit card incident yet. I wonder how many others haven't either.

When I bought my printer and scanner there not too long ago, I was met by a uniformed security guard who checked my merchandise before it went out the door AND handed me a rebate form for a $100 discount from Hewlett-Packard---which had not yet been advertised to the public. I can't complain.

And as a shareholder, I'm glad CompUSA doesn't let itself get ripped off, because shoplifting of expensive goods doesn't help the bottom line. How can you object to this policy?

On top of that, I have recently begun seeing some very impressive advertising being done by CompUSA. Example, a full-page ad on the inside back cover of my industry's trade magazine. CompUSA provides discounts to people in my industry, which makes its prices much better than Best Buy's. I wish I could remember the other ads I've seen lately, but they are different and more noticeable than anything I've ever seen before. There is hope. :)
