The individual expert data files are located in the EQUIS\MSWIN\EXPERTS subdirectory (in 6.5). There seems to be an interface file EQUIS\MSWIN\Ms65expt.dta that links all these experts together for the main dialog. Since it's not easy to selectively identify any individual one for backup I'd suggest doing everything in the expert subdirectory along with the dta files in EQUIS\MSWIN.

Ms65form.dta are custom formulas
Ms65prft.dta are the system tests
Ms65expl.dta are the explorations
Ms65expt.dta are the experts

All of these can be restored from copies after a full program reinstallation. The wizard is supposed to lace all of it back together, but its trashed things too many times not keep safe copies somewhere else.
