Dale, one long seems to think it's a stupid question. I was wondering why a firm with a capital asset worth $40 million would sell junk equity to finance their operations rather than just sell part of the asset.

Chances are you're looking at the tax credits.
That means they can earn that much without paying taxes on it and believe it or not if some sort of M&A deals are made those tax credits are transferrable fully or in part.
