Steven, so tell us a little bit about peering down the throat of Mt. Pinatubo. Is it totally quiet now? Was there a lot of ash on the side that you ascended? Were you there when it erupted, and if so what was it like? Or, is asking all of this improper because you are a writer, and it would be like asking a doctor for a diagnosis here?

Thanks for bringing me up to date on your exciting career, Steven. Travel writing is very interesting to me--how did you get started? Are there books available teaching one how to write travel articles? This seems like a dream job, so I bet there is plenty of competition. Still, there is almost nothing more exciting than really excellent writing about travel adventures.
