I used to get cold called all the time at my office before I "retired" and I used to question the brokers who called me to see how much they really knew about the market and the companies they were touting. The responses I got were abysmal. I never encountered one who knew the first thing about technical analysis or even the macro issues surrounding whatever their flavor of the day was.
