El, I think they don't know how the quarter will end. They pointed out the current progress to the visiting investors and analysts. They included all the positives and negatives. They stated that the quarter is back end loaded so they are not sure how things might turn out. They were honest, and let the analysts draw their own conclusions. I think a warning is when you make a formal announcement that you will not make estimates. The warning announce can now be avoided because the estimates were lowered because of the honest meeting. This gives Compaq an opportunity to meet or exceed estimates by a good margin. They were just being honest about the situation. After all honesty is the best policy. NW
