Dan,
Okay, that is a great start(as all honest, from the heart responses are)

Here is the point where were we are not connecting. I am not speaking of the people such as your grandfather or your wife. They are doing what makes them happy, God bless them. They are not taking a back seat or secondary role, because they are fullfiling their desires in a
way that harms no one else, and makes them happy. I certainly am all for that.

The problem arises(notice how I am carefully not using the word however:-) )when someone has different desires or talents. If someone has a talent or a desire that they wish to pursue, but are denied the ability to pursue it, they are taking a subserviant or secondary role.

If a bright, intelligent, talented, spiritual women is married to a man who is less talented in those areas(maybe moe in others)and she has a desire and the ability to be a better family leader than her mate, she should be the leader, IMO. If she haas the desire and the ability, but is not allowed to she is being subserviant and accepting a role that is secodary to her desires. that would hold true in any generation.

<<. Who says it is secondary?? tell me if
ou can. OK then YOU take over having a baby... can you do it? No?....Then I contend that YOU are a second class person because you are not allowed to carry a child. Do you think such a clearly superior act should be left up to a woman?? >>

The difference is that I can not physically have a baby. There are many women who are more than competent to be spiritual leaders. Many women who are more talented in this arena than their hubands.

The question comes down to this. Why shouldn't a women who is capable, talented, and has the desire, be able to be the spiritual head of their household?
