<<Anybody tried overnighting additional funds in lately? Don't expect them to hit your account the following day - 24-48 hrs minimum to process>>

I requested some wire out, not by over-night mail, on Friday. And I called them on Monday noon, they told me they have sent it out. However, the fund still has not shown up in my account by Tues. 4pm EDT. Usually, it shows up in 3-4 hours after they send it out. So I suspect they actually delayed even though they told me they have sent it out. This sucks.

Edit: finally it showed up in my account at 4:15EDT Tuesday.

REMEMBER AOL, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU!!!!

Don't encourage them <G> Datek should be so lucky. AOL is booming and is worth about $80B now. Maybe that is why Datek screws up. They are trying to copy the AOL model of success.

I'm not saying everything is great. Just that in 99 Datek has been getting better (at least in my experience).

The problem with busy servers has gotten better (remember Nov/Dec 98?!), and while some services have gotten worse, it's because they've made changes.

Everytime there are changes, Datek (and all brokers) tends to have problems. That's expected.

I am not diminishing or excusing the problems, just putting it in perspective. I certainly sympathize with your frustrations - I've been pretty much permanently PO'd at Datek the last 6 months of 98.

All I'm saying is that on some fronts, they seem to be getting better, and it is my fervent hope that they will continue to improve.

I wish you, and all of us Datek customers, the best of luck - we will need it.

Regards,

Morgan

PS I traded today with few problems (Streamer froze, but I don't rely on it anyway), hope this is a good trend :)

Had the exact experience... wire delay and then no clue as to where my funds were for over 24 hours .
BEWARE ! If you know you will need funds wired, act sooner rather than later. They are not as efficient at this as they were previously.
