talking about cpu too - bought that one about six months ago when we had truckloads of insider buying - (insiders of cpu have timed there buys nicely in the past) - held until about two weeks ago - just gave up - selling at almost what i bought at - very unproductive money for me - i thought there first imac quarter with windows 98 would have done it - nope

also am really bullish amzn - think they are gonna aquire a lot of great companies - great lead - great mgnt - lots of cash - think the overall market jitters are holding us back now - we need a sell off - so the market can regain it's confidence (a bigger sell-off)

>I think Amazon is Wal-Mart in 1983< LOL!

Are you serious? What makes you think Amazon will be the Wall-mart of this generation? Amazon will run out money long before they can match Wall-mart's stature. Do you really think Wall-mart is going to roll over while Amazon steals the all the internet commerce? There already is a Wall-mart for this generation, and here it is:
wal-mart.com
Check the prices and you will find that Amazon rarely beats Wall-mart on price or shipping. Is Wall-mart going to make a bundle from this site? I doubt it, but it least Wall-mart is very profitable. In the end Amazon will run out of cash and hype. The real winners of the on-line commerce war will be the consumer, not the greedy ill informed AMZN longs. If you can make a quick killing by riding with the Herd more power to ya, but to justify 20+ Billion market cap for this cash burning dog is either dishonesty, self delusion or stupidity. Happy investing! :)
P.S.- Wall-mart has a on-line Pharmacy too.

I think Amazon is Wal-Mart in 1983, the category-killer and consolidator of
its generation. <<

William, i dare to say, possibly on a grander scale than Wal-mart someday. It's unbelievable what the thinking was on this company a yr. ago from today ...truely an amazing feat!

NEW YORK -- "I'm a pretender," said an unapologetic Barry
Diller to a crowded house of media and Internet execs at the
Jupiter Consumer Online Forum on Tuesday.

Some pretender. Diller has managed to do what few have done
-- buy a Net company (Lycos) for less than its perceived
value. How? I can only imagine the avuncular Mr. Diller
completely overwhelming the execs at Lycos, with his
aggressive message of the importance of process and profits
over insane growth and change for its own sake. Join me, he
must have said, and we can bypass these adolescent geeks and
build a real business. Oh, and I'll also give you access to
a database of 50 million credit card consumers.

Many in the audience were put off by Diller's arrogance. But
I, for one, found his focus on traditional business values
refreshing. Anything he can do to get Net companies to focus
on "the arithmetic," as he calls it, is a help to us all.

William,

Do you have a reason for that thought?
