Hi Rob, Things are really heating up on the VLSI thread and in its stock. Since the "friendly" take-over bid of $17 was offered last Friday (took share price from about $11 to $16 almost immediately) the price has continued to climb. Today it hit over $17.50 and today is the last day of the Philips initial offer.

Philips has announced that it's intent on buying VLSI and will go "hostile" if VLSI board doesn't accept their offer. As far as I can determine, this just means that the price will stay in play a bit longer and quite possibly at a higher price. Many on the VLSI thread seem to think it will finally sell for over $20/share. That'll make me smile!

Best regards,
Tom
