Alan, If buyout at 30 happens (BTW I hope not cause I think it will go higher) the price will shoot up, but not to 30 - something less than that which is because of the risk the deal will not close. You won't get your 30 dollars until the deal closes when it will be credited as cash or stock in the new company in your brokerage account.

Check out XYLN, it was bought yesterday for $37 by ALA.
Deal is supposed to close in April, stock currently
trading around $36.
