I agree Michael. However, Dell does it better than any company I know. Their inventory turns are amazing especially given their volume. The problem I see with this new model is that once they start selling more products, they will need to broaden their distribution network very much in line with Wal Mart's and with what Amazon is attempting to execute. They will not be able to manage all of these vendors to deliver with the same speed and precision that Dell currently delivers with their make-to-order PCs. As you said, if the PC market slows down, they will not command their current multiples unless, for some reason, investors place an internut valuation to Dell along the lines of Amazon.
