MB, btw, the only senior citizens here in Silicon Valley who have all their money in internets are some folks in their late 30s and a few in their 40s. if you haven't been here to see it, you can't believe it <ng>

I think these past few months in the market and in the economy are going to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the goal of a bear market is to separate the most people from the most money. Bears who've been incautious have been slaughtered, and at the same time, the level of confidence on the part of just plain folks is unreal.

Last night I spoke with a family member who builds spec high end houses with her husband ... like, real high risk, real dependent on things going just right in the economy and in the market. Last fall they were real nervous about the market, and the economy, and their business, and they were doing everything they could to trim the sails. Now they see nothing but clear sailing ahead, and are taking steps based on that assumption. When I offered my opinion about the market, I think it fell on deaf ears ...
