Well gee bp, since you are such an expert on this issue of violent human beings - why don't you tell me what to do in this situation.

I once had someone working for me that stalked one of my other employees. Her cat was then murdered violently and laid out on her front porch. Of course we suspect the guy but can't prove anything. We then fired him and he is now unemployed sitting around the parking lot stewing on his misfortune. We ran a check on his past and found no criminal record. Of course, most of these nutty postal worker types dont have records now do they? Of course your sides argument assumes that this guy, if he decides to become violent, would acquire a gun somehow so isn't it wonderful that we also have the right to defend ourselves with firearms. I've got a bunch of kids in my house from time to time - should I go buy a gun NOW and keep it loaded just in case Mr. nutcase decides to pop in?

The point is, if guns were illegal I would have a lot less to worry about.
